Archers History:-

Chris started shooting after the club held a 'Have-a-go' at his local village fete, he tried it once and was so hooked that he cycled 2 miles home to fetch an old fibreglass bow he had in the garage, which didn't have a proper string.

Pete made a simple string for this so it could be used safely, and with that Chris's bond to the sport seemed to be well and truly cemented.

With four months shooting this bow with some club arrows Chris decided to save all his Christmas, and birthday money and put it towards a new bow, (A WIN & WIN
evolution 2) which he started shooting early 2004.

So far Chris had been shooting barebow and had been progressing well and in 2005 he attended his first NFAS national champs shooting in the junior barebow class. This was quite an eye-opening experience for him, and many lessons were learned.

After this, Chris decided a change of style would probably be a useful step to take, so he fitted a sight, altered his anchor point and made the switch to freestyle, where he has made great improvements resulting in his success at the 2006 nationals.

Since then Chris has stepped up a class to the gents and still competes with all the
local free-stylers regularly finishing in the medals.

He has moved on in his equipment and enjoys shooting as often as he can, and now he is about to start driving this could increase!!

Pete made a simple string for this (fibreglass bow) so it could be used safely, and with that Chris's bond to
the sport seemed to be well
and truly
cemented.
