About us

Approximately eleven years ago a group of friends of like mind got together and decided that what they wanted out of an archery club, wasn't available locally, and so "putting their money where their mouth was", started their own club.

Initially this was situated on the Bainland Holiday Park in Woodhall Spa, but after a while the area available became less and less suitable as the park grew, so a move was decided.  With the move came a change of name to R.A.F. Woodhall Black Sheep Archers, but after a while the facilities that had been made available to us disappeared in another R.A.F., change round so another move was upon us.

With this move, just a shortening of the name finds us where we are today, And although some of the faces may have changed, the aims and heart of the club, remains in the same friendly vein originally created.

'Although some of the faces may have changed, the aims and heart of the club, remains in the same friendly vein.'

WINTER FACILITIES

In Revesby Village hall we have a short practice range fully back netted for safety, with kitchen, toilets, and storage space for all our equipment. For a small group it is cosy without being cramped, with space for three bosses, it keeps us going through those cold dark winter months, allowing fun evenings like the Christmas special " Bullseye" night.

SUMMER FACILITIES

Just down the road from the village pub, "the Red Lion", about opposite the Revesby Abbey Gates, you will find us on the cricket field with room to spare.

Space and distance enough here to practice a "Full F.I.T.A.", round if
desired, (I've even managed a bit of clout shooting from the car parking area!).  Again toilets are available, but if a hot drink is wanted bring a flask, and if it's raining, a coat, for the more determined.  Although there's always the option of retiring early for the night , nipping down the road for one of  the pubs' "
fish and chip special" supper's.
